Eversince I saw one of his displays within the Backjumps-exibition at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien some years ago, I have been a assured admirer of the work of Urban Artist and Visual Genius BLU.

Not only is he responsible for enduringly shaping the appearance of many neighbourhoods in Berlin (notably the area around Schlesisches Tor in Kreuzberg) with his gigantic murals and wall-paintings; the works really knocking me off my feet are his highly elaborate animated morph-paintings, that crawl around town, shape-shifting their way throughout a certain theme..

One of my current favourites is his latest animation: a interpretation of the Darwinistic Evolution Theorie “Big Bang Big Boom”. I love the way he involves rubble and trash into the series, always winking with a hint of social criticism..

I could watch those chain reactions for hours, without getting tired..somehow a bit like the Fischli & Weiss of Urban Art, only with more content, ha.. A modern classic.

Berlin Fashionweek is long gone, but I just discovered some very nice pics on facebook of the show of SADAK, the label of the Berlin-based Serbian designer Sasa Kovacevic.

And what’s your deal, Mr. Bright-Smiley-Catz? Haha..

These pictures were taken during his display at the competition “Start your own fashion business”, which, in my opinion, was a total calamity. The event was disconcertingly organized, the moderation was less than palsied and the winners, which were kind of determined before the show even started, couldn’t have been more mainstream.. Inviting SADAK into the show as visual candy for the spectators bored eyes, without him actually having a chance of winning in the first place is merely uncalled-for..

There even was a online petition concerning the discontent and disappointment of some of the contributers, who felt that the event was a farce aiming at pre-planned publicity rather than a support and platform, funded by government budgets to strengthen and engage young and upstriving talents..

I personally love the graphics, the sculptural cuts and pattern-making, every outfit is dripping of ingenuity and creativity, it’s clothes that are fun to watch and wear! But it seems it’s simply more than what oh-so-daffy Berlin can take..

Laughed my fucking ass off when I saw this clip yesterday! Was sent to me by a friend, because I am off to Poland on Sunday for a few days. Nutty russians absorbed by the tanzi tanzi, haha..bananas.

I somehow really like the song though.

Like these Kotti D’Azur Bags (By Muschi Kreuzberg) I constantly see people running around town with all summer already. Still can’t really resolve whether I find them just silly or funny. So, for those who can afford it: holidays on the Kotti D’Azur!

Wenn die Sonne lacht und sich die Jungs am Kotti gegenseitig nassspritzen, weiß man, es ist wieder Fashion Week. Kotti d’Azur: Das Lebensgefühl für die Generation Lebensgefühl. Auch als Leibchen in den angesagtesten Trendfarben am Kotti: Kreideweiß und Vollblau.

Kleber

Mal ehrlich: Es gibt nicht den geringsten Grund, sich diesen Aufkleber zu kaufen. Er ist teuer, war noch nie bei LPG einkaufen und wurde außerdem von drogensüchtigen Kindern aus Sachsen produziert. Es sei denn natürlich, ihr wollt zur Szene dazugehören und die Stoßstange eurer Hornbrille bekleben.

Have already posted several videos of the great take-away-show-series “La Blogothèque”, so here’s a recent one from The Tallest Man on Earth, who put on a great show at Arena Glashaus on Tuesday night. I like people singing in a strange voice for no particular reason, i really appreciate the effort.

For years now rumor is the shrouded-in-stories-Bar-25 will have to close gates end of the season. Yet somehow every spring, after months of cold-beyond-bearing-snow-up-your-waist-and-buried-in-berghain-winters, unanticipatedly the birds start singing, the blossoms start blooming, and the Bar opens its gates once again. 

Some claim it’s a clever marketing trick, I personally think the bar is more than full enough without such cheatz already- and anyways, why bother? For me personally, in summer it’s always the preferred place to spend my sunny afternoons and whatever comes next..

Also i like their label and the music it bears- just recently ended up in Dirty Doerings new video “I would”. Love the tune, like the sunday morning feel and some of the shots are great..If i could stop the shutdown-discussion and keep the Bar and have summer forever- i would.

Just came across this great photo-series by travel- and sports- photographer Ben Matthews. These long-exposed shots of led-armored Skateboarders address my current interest in flashy flashy things. Also I have recently experimented quite a bit with exposure times.

In photography, exposure is the total amount of light allowed to fall on the photographic medium (photographic film or image sensor) during the process of taking a photograph. Exposure is measured in lux seconds, and can be computed from exposure value (EV) and scene luminance over a specified area.

In photographic jargon, an exposure generally refers to a single shutter cycle. For example: a long exposure refers to a single, protracted shutter cycle to capture enough low-intensity light, whereas a multiple exposure involves a series of relatively brief shutter cycles; effectively layering a series of photographs in one image. For the same film speed, the accumulated photometric exposure (H) should be similar in both cases.
